UK Government launches $46m funding for agricultural projects!

Recently, the UK government announced the opening of a new round of £5 million (equivalent to around Rs46 million) grants to support farmers with projects to increase sustainable food production, drive towards net-zero emissions, improve agricultural resilience and support natural recovery.

The project applies solutions that focus on supporting environmental sustainability, progress towards net-zero emissions and agricultural resilience.

The UK Government has said that the New Agricultural Innovation Investor Partnership competition, which aims to accelerate agricultural research and development by combining grant funding with private investment, will begin in late July. The competition is funded by a partnership between the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra), UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) and Innovate UK.

The funding will be earmarked to support ground-breaking projects in the agricultural sector, whichproject has demonstrated potential to commercialise farm technologyto promote its use in a wider range of industries.
